Tractor-mounted leaf harvester for loose leaf lettuce, spinach & baby leaf
Clean cuts, faster picking, and low-maintenance design—built for Australian growers.
At Lockyer Engineering, we design tractor-mounted leaf harvesters that deliver smooth cutting performance and reliable throughput across a wide range of salad crops. Whether you grow loose leaf lettuce, spinach, baby leaf mixes or specialty greens, this machine is built to improve efficiency while keeping costs under control.
Unlike costly self-propelled harvesters, our three-point linkage design gives you high-volume harvesting capability at a fraction of the investment—without compromising precision or output.
A dependable leaf harvester built for Australian conditions
Our leaf harvester uses a hydraulically driven bandsaw blade (made from off-the-shelf parts) to create a clean, consistent cut through lettuce, spinach and other delicate salad crops. This practical engineering choice means cheaper maintenance, easier servicing and minimal downtime during peak harvest.
Once cut, the product is transported up a high-quality food-grade belt to the packing station. Operators can pack directly on the rear tray, or the tray can be replaced with a side-feed conveyor to redirect product into crates, bins or processing lines.
It’s a flexible, efficient system designed to suit a variety of farm workflows.
Why choose a tractor-mounted leaf harvester?
A tractor-mounted unit gives you the power and performance of a commercial lettuce or spinach harvester without the cost and complexity of a self-propelled machine. For medium and large growers across the Lockyer Valley, this strikes the ideal balance between capability and affordability.
